A useful fit for

A documented candidate for a USB webcam workflow that needs two separately aimed camera views, autofocus, a physical shutter for each lens and built-in camera microphones, if a lower-resolution simultaneous pair and compatible app fit the setup.

The main tradeoff

PW313D is limited to USB 2.0 and the maker's simultaneous-resolution matrix rules out some maximum-resolution pairs as not recommended. Its 5 MP right camera is not 4K UHD, paired frame rates are not specified, and the store/Quick Guide tripod descriptions conflict.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can both PW313D cameras run at their maximum resolution at the same time?

AVerMedia's support matrix marks the left 1920 × 1080 plus right 2592 × 1944 combination as not recommended because USB bandwidth is insufficient. It recommends lowering one or both views; the listed left 1080p and right 720p pair is an example, not a published paired-frame-rate guarantee.

Does the right PW313D camera count as 4K?

No. Its listed maximum is 2592 × 1944 (5 MP), narrower than 3840 × 2160 4K UHD. The left camera is separately listed up to 1920 × 1080; neither side's maximum should be inferred as a 4K mode.

Is the PW313D tripod included, and do the shutters mute sound?

The U.S. product page lists a tripod, but the Quick Guide says it is not included. The two physical shutters cover their lenses, while the documents do not say they mute the two microphones. Confirm the exact package and manage audio privacy separately.

The AVerMedia PW313D DualCam is a single USB webcam device with two separately aimed camera lenses, not a 4K camera and not merely a standard webcam with a wide-angle lens. AVerMedia describes simultaneous two-angle capture, autofocus on both cameras, two physical lens shutters and two mono microphones. The published maximums differ by side: 1920 × 1080 at 30 fps for the left camera and 2592 × 1944 at 30 fps for the right. This review interprets the maker's mode and bandwidth limits; it does not claim hands-on use or measured image, audio or synchronization results.

Two viewpoints create a different kind of flexibility

The two cameras can point at different things, allowing an application to show a person and a document or another angle without adding a separate camera device. AVerMedia's examples include teaching and presentation workflows, but simultaneous operation makes app support and USB bandwidth more important than with a single-lens webcam.

The left camera is specified at up to 1080p30, while the right reaches 5 megapixels (2592 × 1944) at 30 fps. That 5 MP 4:3-class mode is not 4K UHD: its width is below 3840 pixels. Do not treat the per-side maximums as a simultaneous pair; AVerMedia's matrix marks the full-resolution pairings not recommended because USB bandwidth is insufficient.

Dual capture has a published bandwidth boundary

The key setup constraint is the manufacturer's supported-resolution matrix. It marks simultaneous use of the left 1920 × 1080 and right 2592 × 1944 settings as not recommended. It also marks a simultaneous pair of 1920 × 1080 settings as not recommended. The note explains that USB bandwidth is not enough for those combinations and recommends lowering one or both resolutions. For example, the matrix allows a right-side 1280 × 720 pairing while the left side remains 1920 × 1080. That example demonstrates a listed combination, not a tested frame rate or a guarantee that a particular application will expose it.

The camera uses USB 2.0 and UVC; its 2 m USB-C-to-Type-A cable lets it connect to a Type-A host. A Type-C computer may need a different host-side cable or adapter, and the manufacturer sources do not establish that a Type-C-to-Type-C lead is supplied. Because the FAQ's matrix is about paired resolutions, do not promise a 30 fps rate for every pair from the separate per-camera maximums. Confirm the mode choices, stream layout and bandwidth behavior in the actual OS and conference or capture application. The support page also says a single camera feed cannot be accessed by multiple applications at the same time; close a competing camera app when troubleshooting a missing feed.

Separate shutters and microphones are not audio mute controls

Each lens has its own physical sliding shutter. A user can cover one view without necessarily covering the other, so check both shutters when visual privacy for the device is required. The maker documentation does not state that either shutter mutes or disconnects the microphone. The device has two mono omnidirectional microphones, one associated with each camera; microphone hardware does not establish a tested pickup range, voice quality or noise rejection. Use application or operating-system controls for audio privacy and verify which microphone the app selects.

Both cameras are listed as autofocus, a useful contrast with fixed-focus PW313. That feature does not establish transition speed, focus noise or how quickly a page becomes sharp in an actual application. Check framing in the intended software; an independent top-down arm may still be needed if the supplied clip cannot hold the required angle.

Check the exact package against conflicting documents

The exact U.S. store product page lists the PW313D, a tripod, a Quick Guide and a 2 m USB-A-to-USB-C cable. The Quick Guide's box-contents panel instead lists the PW313D, cable and guide, and its installation drawing labels the tripod as not included. Those primary sources conflict. Do not assume either that the tripod is included in every offer or that it is never supplied: check the exact seller package and the terms for the item being considered.

The official model page and manual identify the device as USB 2.0 and UVC. The manufacturer lists operating-system requirements including Windows 10 or later, macOS 10.13 or later, ChromeOS and iPadOS 17 or later with a Type-C port; actual two-camera options remain application-dependent. The two-metre cable, clip and tripod claims should be checked against the delivered package, along with host-port access, screen clearance and whether the application can show both feeds in the layout you need. No compatibility statement here substitutes for a real configuration check on your host.

Current model and listed procurement status

PW313D appears in the captured current four-route AVerMedia U.S. webcam collection and has an exact U.S. store page, so it is treated as a current-reference model in this library. That label describes the captured manufacturer category, not stock, offer condition, warranty or seller authorization. AVerMedia also names PW313D on its positive TAA product list under webcams. That is model-level evidence only: confirm the exact delivered item, purchasing route and contract terms if TAA acceptance is required.

Who should consider a two-camera webcam?

The PW313D is most distinctive for someone who needs two views at once and can use a paired-resolution arrangement the maker's matrix marks as supported. Its separate shutters, autofocus and camera microphones are documented features, not measured quality. It is a poor fit when 4K UHD, simultaneous full-resolution feeds, USB 3-class bandwidth, a guaranteed tripod package or a simple single-lens setup is essential. A 5 MP label does not make this a 4K webcam.

For one fixed camera angle, the PW313 is a simpler fixed-focus 1080p30 comparison, while the PW315 lists 1080p60 and fixed focus. AVerMedia's PW513 and PW515 list actual 4K UHD modes in separate USB 3-class camera plans, with different focus systems. These are functional alternatives, not evidence that one model's cable, shutter, focus or package belongs to another. Check the pairing matrix and exact bundle before choosing the DualCam for a multi-angle workflow.
