Earlier model: Jabra's support record identifies North American item 8602-332 and labels its documents discontinued. That status does not establish present seller availability, condition or carton contents.

A useful fit for

Only for a buyer intentionally evaluating an earlier complete Teams Rooms package with Lenovo ThinkSmart Core Gen 2, USB touch control and a PanaCast 50 camera bar, after confirming support and the exact delivered components.

The main tradeoff

Jabra marks the exact USB item 8602-332 documents discontinued, and seller condition/availability are unknown. This room system needs installation, power, display, network and IT planning, while the 3840 × 1080/30 panoramic specification is not a conventional UHD webcam mode.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Does the USB-controller system have a built-in camera microphone?

Yes. Jabra lists eight microphones in the PanaCast 50 bar, which is included in this system. The specification does not measure call audio in a specific room.

What is the practical difference between the Room System 2 USB and IP controller packages?

The exact North American USB item is 8602-332 and uses a USB touchscreen controller with a ten-metre panel cable and separate BYOM cable. IP item 8612-332 uses an IP controller and Link Box. Verify the exact part and shipped controller before considering an older offer.

Can I count its Panoramic-4K claim as a normal 4K webcam mode?

No. The documented picture is 3840 × 1080 at 30 fps and the full UVC output matrix is not published. The matcher does not treat the label as a verified conventional 3840 × 2160 computer-camera mode.

Does the included removable cover meet a built-in shutter requirement?

No. Jabra lists a removable camera privacy cover, not a built-in shutter. The reviewed source set does not say that the cover mutes the system microphones.

Identify the USB-controller package precisely

Jabra’s North American part 8602-332 is the PanaCast 50 Room System 2 MTR package with Lenovo ThinkSmart Core Gen 2 and a USB controller. Its support record identifies that exact item and currently labels its documents “Discontinued”; the Rev B technical sheet also marks the North American part with a “Coming soon” note. Those dated product records do not establish whether a particular reseller has stock, its condition or the carton it will ship. For this assessment I classify the USB-controller edition as an earlier reference, so it appears only when the finder is set to include earlier models.

This is not the separate IP-controller package. The USB edition includes a ThinkSmart USB controller display and a ten-metre USB-C-to-USB-C cable for the touch panel, plus a three-metre USB-C lead identified for BYOM. The IP configuration is a different SKU (8612-332) with a networked IP controller and Link Box. Both contain the PanaCast 50 bar, but the controller hardware, interconnect, supplied leads and exact item number matter to installation. Do not use one system’s controller or cable list to fill a gap in the other.

The USB-controller sheet’s package list also identifies the PanaCast 50 bar, its power supply, wall mount, two-metre USB-C-to-USB-A USB 3.0 camera cable and removable privacy cover. The Core Gen 2 computer is preloaded with Microsoft Teams Rooms. In a deployed room, the Core remains the meeting host and the controller supports the room workflow; a USB touch-panel lead is not a substitute for the camera’s two-metre USB lead. Plan the display connection, power, room network, wall placement and IT provisioning as a system rather than treating the camera bar as a standalone desk accessory.

Read the camera specification narrowly

Jabra lists three cameras, 13-megapixel sensors, a 180° horizontal by 54° vertical field of view, and “Panoramic-4K” at 3840 × 1080 and 30 frames per second. The format is a wide stitched panorama, not the usual 3840 × 2160 UHD computer frame. The spec sheet does not give the complete USB output matrix for a desktop video-call application, so this review does not credit a conventional 4K webcam mode, 1080p60 or 4K60. Distinct image, display or camera-recording claims do not establish a supported UVC mode at a specific host and frame rate.

The published camera system is intended to see a broad meeting-room scene. Jabra lists its intelligent framing and speaker-related features, but their presence does not tell a buyer how well a particular room, seating arrangement or software platform will be captured. This is not a tested picture-quality or tracking assessment. If the intended use is a narrow, single-person desk crop, a dedicated desktop webcam is a more sensible starting point than a wall-mounted room array with Lenovo compute.

Choose the right connection for the job

The installed-system route is the preloaded Teams Rooms Core Gen 2 plus its touch controller. The separate three-metre USB-C BYOM lead is for a personal-computer meeting connection to the room system; the ten-metre USB-C-to-USB-C lead belongs to the touch-panel arrangement. For deliberately using the PanaCast bar as a camera on an external computer, Jabra lists the bar’s two-metre USB 3.0 lead. Keep those three purposes distinct, check the host ports and intended call app, and do not infer a full webcam mode list just because the cable is USB 3.0.

The PanaCast 50 bar lists eight beamforming microphones and four speakers. That makes microphone hardware part of this package, but it is not a promise of sound quality or a measured pickup result in every room. The box also includes a removable privacy cover; that is not an integrated physical shutter, and the sources do not establish that covering the lenses mutes the microphones. Optical focus type is not classified in the reviewed sheet. TAA compliance for exact item 8602-332 is also not established.

When an earlier system is worth investigating

This configuration may interest an organization deliberately evaluating an older complete room-system bundle that still includes the PanaCast camera and its own computer. It is not a current-offer recommendation: the support status is a caution to check lifecycle, warranty and software support, while seller availability remains unknown. The system is materially different from the older-generation PanaCast 50 Room System 8601-332/432 as well as the Room System 2 IP-controller 8612-332. Confirm exact 8602-332 on the label, that the USB touchscreen and Core Gen 2 components are present, the installed Teams Rooms license/tenant requirements, power supplies, mounts, camera cable and return terms. If those system components are unnecessary, compare the standalone PanaCast 50 bar; if the newer IP-control arrangement is required, compare the separate IP-controller Room System 2 assessment. No claim about current stock, price, package condition, room performance or personal testing is made.
